Thomas Plume Library
On Friday 6th March, Wentworth raised £350.50 to help the Thomas Plume Library repair their roof and safeguard their book collection, which includes a bible from the 15th Century. It is one of the oldest reference libraries in the country.
Thank you to the children for bringing in their coins. With the money raised, we will be able to sponsor a shelf. Each class filled a large letter with the coins, so as a school we spelt ‘I love Reading’.
In the morning, we welcomed a visitor from the Thomas Plume Library, who spoke to the children in assembly about the library. The class that raised the most coins was 4S. Therefore as the winning class they will go on a visit to the Thomas Plume Library and will enjoy a special trip that is usually only available to secondary schools.
