Eco-Schools Green Flag Award

Thursday 25th, February 2021

Dear Parents,

We have some exciting news to share with you... Wentworth Primary has officially received our Eco-Schools Green Flag! Although we have achieved this in previous years, the award lapses and we have to introduce new initiatives and keep our ideas fresh and make a formal application for assessment every few years.

We are so proud of our Eco Teams that have worked hard over the current and past academic year; all their hard work has contributed to making this possible. We also couldn't have achieved this without our collaborative projects with the PTA and our wonderful children being so engaged in our eco-initiatives. Some of the work completed remotely for subjects such as PSHE, geography and science had fantastic eco-links and enabled us to provide further evidence to support our application, so a huge well done to all.

We wanted to share this wonderful message from our Green Flag assessor:

I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you for continuing to work on your Eco-Schools Green Flag during these unprecedented times- it is a true reflection of your school's determination to make a real difference. If possible, please pass on my thanks to your Eco-Committee.

Achieving our green flag doesn't mean that our eco-projects stop here! We will be taking part in Waste Week, which commences on the 8th of March, and there are lots of exciting ideas that the eco team planned when we last met, which we will be hoping to put into place for the summer term.

Many Thanks,

Miss Moor
