Congratulations to our new School councillors
Our school councillors have been elected by their classes to represent the voice of our pupils, with many of our representatives giving inspiring speeches to their classmates. They spoke about the qualities that would make them an excellent candidate, as well as what they would like to implement if they were elected.
As councillors, their job is to help our school to strive for excellence by thinking of new ideas to support learning and to improve the school environment. Class councils will be held so that each class can feed into the main agenda and help to make the school the very best it can be, so that the pupil voice is heard by the leadership and governors of the school.
This year, the school council will continue to support charities, such as Macmillan, Children in Need and Comic Relief. Class votes will also be held to determine this year's chosen charity that the school council will support through exciting fundraising projects. We will also be raising the profile of the WOW Travel Tracker, which encourages children to travel to school actively (and in turn reduces traffic in our local area and the use of petrol). Responding to the rise in the cost of living is also on our agenda this year, and the school council will work with our eco team to think about how we can save energy in our school community, as well as at home.
