Class 3S Art work for Farleigh Hospice
3S have been having a lot of fun decorating a cut out about Brazil for an exhibition at Farleigh Hospice during May and June. They worked in small groups to cut out the shapes for the flag, make origami birds and to research facts about Brazil and the upcoming Olympics. After watching a video they decided to use bright colours as Brazil is famous for its colourful carnival celebrations and they remind them of sunshine, the rainforest and the sea. The rainforest is full of brightly coloured birds and they made leaves to write facts on. Leaves were used for the wreaths for Olympic Champions in Ancient Greece. The children said they enjoyed the challenge giving them a chance to show their talents at team work, perseverance and respect for others.
