Armistice Day
Sunday 11th, November 2018
Mrs Dack and Mrs Waller accompanied Teddy and Kathryn to Maldons Remembrance Day parade to lay wreaths at the foot of the war memorial to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War 1 and Germany for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front which took effect at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.
This week every class had a wreath on the door and the children visited the promenade park to view the various commemorations. We also had Maldon historian Stephen Nunn hold an assembly to talk to the children about the history of Armistice Day.
